The Role- Responsible for the install and support secure and resilient LAN/WAN infrastructure in line with industry best practice
- Deploy and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless solutions
- Implement encryption technologies, access control systems, and secure remote access solutions
- Manage advanced security platforms such as next‑gen firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC and secure remote access
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks including ISO
27001, NIST, and PCI DSS
Network Monitoring & Performance Management
Use enterprise monitoring and analytics tools to ensure optimal network performance. Identify trends, diagnose abnormal behaviour, and proactively address issues across customer and internal systems.
Security Assessments & Continuous Improvement
Stay current with evolving cyber‑security threats and ensure all managed environments maintain strong security posture. Identify vulnerabilities, elevate risks where necessary, and provide clear remediation recommendations.
Wireless Auditing & Deployment
Conduct wireless assessments using specialist tools to evaluate existing deployments and plan new solutions. Translate customer requirements into effective wireless designs, including site assessments, equipment specification, and deployment oversight.
Technical Support
Act as an escalation point for complex network issues and high‑severity incidents within the project deployment and service desk functions. Take ownership of support cases from initial report through to successful resolution, following departmental standards.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
Create and maintain high‑quality technical documentation, diagrams, and knowledge‑base articles to support internal teams and customers.
- Essential:
- Experience implementing and supporting enterprise‑grade networks (minimum 4 years)
- Knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls and network security technologies
- Hands‑on experience with major vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Meraki, Aruba or Fortinet
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in large‑scale and complex environments
- Experience in network architecture, incident management, and project delivery
- Desirable:
- Network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or equivalent
- Experience with cloud networking (Azure / AWS / GCP)
- Automation and scripting expertise (Python, Ansible, Terraform)
- Experience with SD‑WAN, SASE, Zero Trust or network virtualisation technologies
