Full-time, Permanent

Monday-Friday, with alternative shift patterns available

The Opportunity

I am partnering with a growing logistics business who are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join its operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong knowledge of Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland who enjoys working in a fast-paced transport environment and is looking to develop their career within a progressive operation.

You will play a key role in planning and coordinating deliveries, ensuring customer requirements are met efficiently while maintaining strong relationships with drivers, customers and internal teams.

The Role

As Transport Planner, you will be responsible for organising transport in the most efficient and cost-effective way, while ensuring high levels of customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and allocating customer orders to transport and drivers.
Assigning delivery requirements and confirming booking dates.
Building efficient delivery schedules to maximise fleet utilisation.
Managing delivery requests and resolving issues that could impact service levels.
Maintaining strong relationships with drivers and customers.
Producing transport reports, schedules and operational information.
Liaising closely with Customer Service and Sales teams to ensure accurate order information.
Communicating proactively with customers regarding any changes to delivery times.
Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Identifying opportunities to improve transport efficiency and service delivery.
Supporting a culture of continuous improvement across the operation.

About You

We are looking for an organised and commercially aware Transport Planner who can work confidently in a busy operational environment.

Recent experience in a Transport Planner or similar transport/logistics role.
Strong geographical knowledge of NI, ROI and GB.
Good knowledge of transport planning systems and relevant IT platforms.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
The ability to identify and implement improvements to operational efficiency.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
A proactive approach, with the confidence to work independently and use initiative.

What's on Offer

£34,000 - £45,000 salary, depending on experience.
Monday-Friday working, with alternative shift patterns available.
Options including Tuesday-Saturday and rotating weekend arrangements.
Approximately 1 weekend shift in 4.
