The Role

The Communications Manager will lead internal communications, press and media activity, and corporate tone of voice across the Group, ensuring clear, consistent and strategic messaging that supports a people‑first culture, organisational growth, and strong reputation. The role will ensure communications align with business objectives, values, and the 2029 Vision, supporting engagement, operational delivery, and executive messaging across a 1,500+ employee organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver a structured internal communications plan across the organisation
  • Ensure clear, timely and consistent communication from leadership to all employees
  • Support employee engagement through multi‑channel communications (briefings, updates, campaigns)
  • Translate business strategy and operational updates into accessible messaging for frontline and office teams
  • Support MDs and senior leaders with internal communications and key announcements
  • Manage all press external announcements, and corporate statements
  • Draft and coordinate communications for contract wins, milestones, and strategic updates
  • Act as the key point of contact for media and external communications
  • Protect and enhance the organisation’s external reputation through controlled messaging
  • Own and maintain the corporate tone of voice across all communications
  • Develop and implement corporate messaging guidelines and communication standards
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across internal communications, press releases, and leadership communications
  • Align communications to company values:
    Teamwork, Integrity, Excellence and Respect
  • Provide communications support to the Executive Director, CEO and Managing Directors Support organisational change communications and transformation initiatives
  • Prepare executive briefings, key messages, and leadership communications packs
  • Ensure MDs are appropriately consulted on major communications impacting operations
  • Maintain and manage the Communications Risk Register (reputational, messaging and internal comms risks)
  • Develop mitigation plans for high‑risk communications scenarios Support crisis and incident communications in collaboration with Executive and Operational teams
  • Ensure governance and escalation processes are in place for sensitive communications
  • Work closely with Marketing on outward messaging and Linked In alignment
  • Ensure consistency between internal messaging, media activity, and external brand positioning
  • Support strategic campaigns that align with business growth and reputation
Key

Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or PR
  • Experience operating in a large, multi‑site or operational organisation
  • Experience managing senior stakeholder and executive communications
  • Strong press and media writing experience
  • Experience developing communication strategies and governance frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing ability
