Community Collector (Driver)
Independent Arts are looking for enthusiastic and outgoing volunteers to support us in spreading the word about our work and support our community Sing About groups!
Whats On Guides:
Each quarter the charity produce an A5 what's on leaflet, which details all our workshops and groups in both our Newport based Creative Hub and in the community, as well as some snippets of information about the charity itself.
These can be collected from our hub, but are also distributed across the island to other charity and community originations, libraries, community centres, doctors surgeries etc.
Collections:
To support the charity with our community Sing About sessions, we are seeking a driving volunteer (this could be the same person as the whats on guide distributor) to collect registers, participant forms, and collection tins from our practitioners sessions once a month. This would involve 1 pick up per month from each venue (east cowes, freshwater, cowes, newport, ryde, lake) and returning what was collected to our Creative Hub in Newport High Street.
We would love to work with a volunteer, or small group of volunteers, who would enjoy the administration task of packing and delivering these across the island, essentially acting as a regular point of contact for other organisations, and helping us to spread the word and reach more isolated island residents who might benefit from the charities work.
The role would be 2-3 days per month, plus an additional few days or half days each quarter, and can be done very much in your own time and as you work best.
The duties would involve:
sourcing new venues and making new collections to host our whats on guide to ensure we are reaching all those on the island who may benefit from joining an Independent Arts workshop
Collecting whats on guides from the Creative Hub
Distributing the guides to venues and locations, ideally by hand, and representing Independent Arts as you do so
Monthly collections of registers, participant forms, and collection tins from community venues around the island.
