Position: Head of Sales (FMCG) - Exclusive
VANRATH is delighted to be retained on an exclusive, confidential basis by a long established Northern Ireland distribution business on the appointment of a Head of Sales for their Pharmacy and Grocery Division. This is a senior leadership role covering NI and ROI. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will hold overall responsibility for the commercial performance and profitable growth of the division, leading the sales team, developing supplier and customer relationships and driving new business.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

Take ownership of the division's overall sales and profitability performance, reporting to the Board Manage and grow relationships with existing suppliers and principals, negotiating commercial terms, PORs and Joint Business Plans Identify and secure new principal, supplier and sector opportunities to grow the division Manage a small portfolio of key accounts at head office level Lead, develop and drive the sales team, with clear objectives, targets and accountability Collaborate across Procurement, Warehouse and Goods-In to keep Sales and Operations aligned

The Ideal Candidate Proven senior sales leadership experience, ideally within FMCG, pharmacy, grocery or wholesale distribution Strong track record of growing commercial performance and profitability

Experience of supplier and principal management, including commercial terms and Joint Business Plans Demonstrable success in new business and new principal development Excellent people leader and commercially sharp negotiator Full driving licence, willing to travel across NI and ROI
