Hours of work: 39.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, distributed as advised by management between 6am to 5pm (4pm on Friday) Remuneration: £13.87 per hour starting rate but with the chance to progress to a higher pay grade over the first 6-12months based on good performance. Company pension scheme with 6% employer contribution and level 2 membership of Westfield Health plus life insurance.

VSSCo is seeking a reliable and detail-focused Warehouse Operative to join our busy warehouse team in Lisburn. This is an excellent opportunity to play an important role in ensuring veterinary medicines, equipment and animal healthcare products are received, stored and dispatched accurately, safely and on time to veterinary practices. You will support the efficient operation of our distribution centre by receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatching stock accurately and safely.

The Role

Key Responsibilities Goods In Receive supplier deliveries and check incoming stock against delivery documentation. Report shortages, damage or discrepancies promptly Book stock accurately into the warehouse management system. Store products appropriately, including temperature-controlled items where required. Storage and Stock Control Store products safely in designated warehouse locations and maintain accurate stock records. Participate in stock counts and inventory checks. Follow stock rotation procedures, including First Expiry, First Out (FEFO), and report expiry concerns.

Order Picking and Packing Pick, prepare and pack customer orders accurately and efficiently. Verify order accuracy before dispatch. Handle veterinary medicines and controlled products in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements. Dispatch Prepare goods for shipment within agreed deadlines. Load vehicles safely and securely. Complete dispatch documentation accurately and liaise with transport providers to support timely delivery. Health, Safety and Compliance Follow company health and safety procedures and operate warehouse equipment safely.

Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment. Comply with Good Distribution Practice requirements and applicable regulations relating to veterinary products. Report accidents, near misses and hazards promptly. Required Criteria A minimum of five GCSEs at grade C/4 or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics.

A minimum of 1 years previous experience in a warehouse, distribution or logistics environment (or similar). Good literacy, numeracy and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet productivity and quality standards. Awareness of workplace health and safety requirements. A reliable, punctual and flexible approach, with the ability to work effectively in a busy environment.

Commitment to accuracy, quality and customer service. Desired Criteria Experience in a pharmaceutical, veterinary, healthcare or wholesale distribution environment. A valid forklift truck licence, such as counterbalance or reach. Experience using a warehouse management system. Knowledge of stock control and stock rotation procedures.
