Department: Academic/Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) – Leeds, on site.
Type of Contract: Full‑time, permanent (40 hrs per week). Sponsorship not offered.
Salary: £51,000 per annum.
Lecturer to teach across undergraduate levels in the BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance programme. Flexible teaching schedule (weekdays, evenings, weekends). Focus on inspiring students.
What you'll be doingAll aspects of learning, teaching and assessment, keeping up‑to‑date with developments in the field and student support practices. Deliver core accounting modules such as Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Taxation and Audit, or similar subject matter.
Responsibilities- Plan, deliver and assess student work ensuring all learning outcomes are met.
- Develop, update and improve course materials.
- Use a variety of learning and teaching methods and materials.
- Engage in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and administrative duties.
- Stay current with latest developments and student support practices.
- Achieve objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction and progression.
- Master’s degree in an Accounting and Finance field (UK or equivalent); full member of a PSRB (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, IFA) with PhD desirable.
- Previous UK HE lecturing experience delivering core accounting modules (Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Taxation, Audit, etc.).
- Extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter.
- Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.
- Accurate reporting and organisational record‑keeping.
- Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills.
- Commitment to working with diverse groups.
- Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification; or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme within probation and complete within three years.
- Fully qualified from PSRB affiliates or active members (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, IFA).
