Company Overview

The Supply Register is a managed service working alongside 5 multi academy trusts within Devon & Cornwall, including Plymouth CAST, Dartmoor Academy Trust, WAVE Academy Trust and Reach South Academy Trust. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable SEN Secondary Teacher (possibly to teach English and Math) to join our team.

Position Overview

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN)? Our school community seeks a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join our team. If you’re committed to providing high‑quality, personalised support to help every student thrive academically and personally, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored instruction: plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of subjects, adapting teaching strategies and materials to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students with SEN, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD and other learning challenges.
  • Provide individualised support: give one‑on‑one and small‑group support, implementing specialised interventions and accommodations outlined in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Assessment and progress monitoring: conduct regular assessments to track students’ progress and inform instructional planning.
  • Behaviour management: foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment by implementing effective behaviour management strategies and providing social‑emotional support to students with SEN.
  • Collaboration and communication: work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to supporting students’ academic, social and emotional development; attend and contribute to SEN review meetings and other relevant forums.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching students with SEN, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • Specialised training or qualifications in SEN education, such as a Postgraduate Certificate in SEN or equivalent, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of different learning needs and the ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual students’ requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents/carers and external stakeholders.
  • Patience, empathy, resilience and a genuine passion for supporting the holistic development of students with SEN.
