SEN Secondary Teacher
The Supply Register are a managed service working alongside 5 multi academy trusts within Devon & Cornwall including Plymouth CAST, Dartmoor Academy Trust, WAVE Academy Trust and Reach South Academy Trust.
Position OverviewWe are currently seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable SEN Secondary Teacher (possibly to teach English and Math) to join our team.
Our school community is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to provide high-quality, personalized support for students with SEN.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver tailored instruction across a range of subjects, adapting teaching strategies and materials to meet diverse learning needs and abilities of students with SEN.
- Provide one‑on‑one and small group support, implementing specialized interventions and accommodations outlined in IEPs or EHCPs.
- Conduct regular assessments to track progress and inform instructional planning; collaborate with SENCOs and educational psychologists.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment with effective behaviour management strategies and social‑emotional support.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach; attend and contribute to SEN review meetings and other relevant forums.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching students with SEN, preferably in a school or educational setting.
- Specialized training or qualifications in SEN education, such as a Postgraduate Certificate in SEN or equivalent, are highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of different learning needs and ability to differentiate instruction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
- Patience, empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting the holistic development of students with SEN.
