About the Role

At Synergy Care & Education, we believe great care starts with great people. We're seeking dedicated Health Care Assistants (HCAs) to provide exceptional person-centred support in residential and nursing care homes in liskeard and surrounding area. Your compassion and professionalism will help residents maintain comfort, dignity, and independence.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver hands-on care, including personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, and continence support.
  • Assist with safe mobility and transfers, using hoists or other equipment as required.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, promptly reporting any changes to senior staff or nursing teams.
  • Support residents during mealtimes: preparing, serving, and assisting with feeding when necessary.
  • Provide companionship, conversation, and meaningful activities to enhance emotional well-being.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that meets infection-control standards.
  • Follow individual care plans and uphold resident confidentiality at all times.

What We're Looking For

  • Genuine empathy, patience, and a passion for improving quality of life.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Previous experience as an HCA, care assistant, or support worker in a care-home or nursing-home setting is an advantage.
  • Understanding of dementia care and other age-related conditions is beneficial.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Physically able to assist with lifting or mobility when required.

Why Work with Synergy

  • Service-first culture: we prioritise exceptional resident care and fair staff pay over sales targets.
  • Competitive hourly rates with prompt, reliable payment.
  • Flexible shifts (days, nights, weekends) to suit your lifestyle.
  • Ongoing training & professional development, including specialist dementia and palliative-care courses.
  • A supportive management team that values your wellbeing and career growth.

Bring your compassion and commitment to care, and help us enrich the lives of residents in care homes across the UK.
