Job overview

Liskeard Minor Injuries Unit has a rare opportunity covering maternity leave for a fixed term contract of twelve months for an MIU Practitioner, to work in a practitioner-led Minor Injuries Unit (MIU). The MIU currently operates 8am-8pm.

This is a Band 6 post and we are looking for a Practitioner who is able to work in an advanced practice role which includes minor illness and paediatrics at band 6 level .

You need to have a passion for minor injury care, good communication skills, and a commitment to providing excellent care as part of the MIU team. You must be responsive to change and flexible in your approach as we are in an exciting period of development for the MIU service. A sound knowledge of professional issues will be required.

It is an expectation of the role that the post is offered on the basis of regular rotation shifts to cover evenings and weekends. We are a small team and flexibility is vital to ensure service provision.

Main duties of the job

To deliver, without supervision, effective assessment and treatment of patients utilising evidence based approach. Responsible for the care needs, the management of treatment and evaluation of clinical interventions, reflecting the needs of patients attending this unit.

Responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care in unit.
