Position: STAFF ACCOUNTANT

JOB SUMMARY

At the CFO's direction, the Staff Accountant will work in conjunction with the other Staff Accountants to provide financial support for construction projects while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position is a Temp to Hire role and is not being fulfilled through a recruiting agency. Full benefits will be available to the selected person if hired into a permanent role.

This is an in-office role and does not offer a remote/hybrid accommodations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accounts Payable data entry; including the maintenance of vendor files
  • Keeping Job Cost files updated and accurate using Google Sheets
  • Research, track and correct any Job Cost problems and discrepancies.
  • Entering and reconciling company credit cards, gas cards, and expense reports in a timely manner
  • Help identify patterns in costs through General Ledger account analysis
  • As directed, perform analysis of company activities
  • Assist in the implementation of our new accounting systems, Vista Spectrum & Corpay
  • Help with preparing end of the month close out and end of year financial close outs.
  • Assist with providing data for yearly insurance renewals and audits.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS/ATTRIBUTES
  • Demonstrate ability to provide organization leadership to achieve company goals.
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with clients, peers, and associates throughout the company and affiliates.
  • Typing accurately, preparing and maintaining accounting documents and records
  • Extensive industry accounting knowledge and demonstrated technical acumen.
  • Expertise in communication skills with internal team and external clients and vendors
  • Ability to run and prioritize day to day accounting functions accurately and effectively
  • Flexible availability and adaptability, with the dedication to ensure successful completion of a project.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION
  • Minimum 5-10 years of accounting professional work experience (construction industry preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required
  • Excellent knowledge using Excel and Quick Books is required
  • Proficient in Word, Google, Corpay and Construction Software (Vista Spectrum Preferred)
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve professional goals.
  • Highly organized and have great attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and support a variety of roles
