Senior Accountant
On-site | Lisle, IL (Southwest Chicago suburbs) | ~3 month contract

This is a great fit for a Senior Accountant who likes being close to the action. You ll be a true partner to the accounting team not just closing the books, but helping shape how things are done as the business moves fast and tackles more complex accounting questions.

You ll be heavily involved in month-end close, consolidations, and financial reporting, while also jumping into technical accounting, audits, and process improvements. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, asking why, and finding cleaner, smarter ways to do things this team will appreciate you.

The environment is fast-paced but collaborative. You ll work alongside FP&A, legal, and operations, and your work will directly impact leadership s view of the business.

What your days will actually look like

You ll spend a good chunk of time owning month-end close activities journal entries, accruals, intercompany eliminations, and reconciliations across multiple entities. You ll also help prepare financial statements, disclosures, and supporting analysis, and support audits by pulling schedules, answering questions, and keeping things moving.

Along the way, you ll dig into technical accounting topics (leases, consolidations, revenue, impairments, debt), support ERP or process-improvement projects, and help document or refine how work gets done.

This isn t a static role priorities will shift, and you ll be trusted to adapt and help solve problems as they come up. Must-haves

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or actively working toward CPA
• 5 years of accounting experience, ideally in multi-entity or consolidated environments
• Strong hands-on experience with month-end close and financial reporting
• Solid GAAP knowledge (especially areas like ASC 842, 810, 360)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, nested formulas, lookups)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in high-growth retail or healthcare environments
• Exposure to SOX compliance and audit support
• Experience with systems like Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, Great Plains, or similar
• Familiarity with tools like Trintech, Workiva, GTreasury, or BI/reporting platforms
• Comfort presenting or explaining financial analysis to stakeholders
