Overview
Join the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) team! We are seeking a Clinical Guidelines Manager
. This position works closely with expert task forces, writing committees, and multidisciplinary panels composed of dentists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate brings strong project management, communication, and evidence synthesis skills to ensure that all guideline development activities align with organizational standards, timelines, and methodological best practices. The AADSM’s small office provides growth opportunity for individuals with a can-do attitude and strong work ethic.
and Responsibilities of the Position
- Manages the end-to-end process of developing AADSM standards, consensus papers, and policy and position statements using established methodologies (e.g., RAND, Delphi Method, etc.).
- Acts as primary liaison between the association and volunteer task force members, including clinicians, researchers, and other subject matter experts.
- Facilitates task force meetings and support consensus-building discussions, ensuring timely completion of milestones and deliverables.
- Manages literature reviews, evidence grading, and data, including conducting literature searches, pulling literature, and managing the inclusion/exclusion process.
- Drafts, edits, and formats guideline manuscripts and supporting documentation for publication in peer-reviewed journals or association platforms.
- Coordinates the publication of approved papers in the Journal of Dental Sleep Medicine.
- Collaborates with internal departments such as education, advocacy, and communications to promote and disseminate finalized guidelines to various audiences.
- Tracks project timelines, budgets, and reporting metrics to ensure adherence to project scopes and deadlines.
- Some travel is required with this position, which may include weekends.
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field, public health, or life sciences
- 2+ years of experience in medical writing, clinical guideline development, medical publishing, or clinical research coordination
- Familiarity with evidence-based medicine methodologies and clinical literature databases (e.g., Pub Med, Google Scholar)
- Experience working with expert panels, task forces, or multidisciplinary committees
- Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple guideline projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing or editing scientific or clinical documents
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Conveniently located off of I-355 and I-88 in Lisle (south of the Morton Arboretum). We have a business casual work environment, a hybrid work schedule with up to two work-from-home days a week, and a multitude of benefits including medical, vision, dental, life and disability insurance; a generous retirement plan; and a competitive PTO program. Salary for this position ranges between $78, per year.
