We are seeking a hands‑on Mechanical Lab Technician to support our Research & Development team. This role involves building, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems and prototypes in a laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working with tools, instrumentation, and test equipment.

What You Will Do- Assemble, modify, and maintain mechanical components, prototypes, and test fixtures.
- Conduct mechanical and functional testing on components and systems according to established procedures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., torque testers, vibration tables, thermal chambers).
- Record and analyze test data; prepare detailed reports for engineering teams.
- Assist engineers in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment in compliance with safety standards.
- Manage inventory of parts, tools, and consumables.
- Associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a mechanical or laboratory technician role.
- Hands‑on experience with mechanical assembly, testing, and instrumentation.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
- Familiarity with fiber optic cables and connectors.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).
- Basic understanding of data acquisition systems and test software.
For this role, we anticipate paying $24.00 - $36.00 per hour. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
