Lead Staff Structural Engineer – Brindley Engineering Corporation
Join Brindley Engineering Corporation as a Lead Staff Structural Engineer. We are seeking a detail‑oriented, reliable, creative team player to lead field evaluations of industrial structures, analyze data, evaluate root causes of failure, complete analytical modeling and calculations, and develop engineered rehabilitation/replacement plans & specifications.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Lead field evaluation of existing structures
- Develop calculations and analytical models in steel, concrete, and other materials
- Lead the design of structural rehabilitation and/or replacement plans
- Specify materials and lead the development of reports
- Provide technical support for structural construction
- Client interface, proposal, and estimate development
- Bachelor of Science in Civil / Structural Engineering
- 8+ years of experience
- P.E. license required
- Extensive knowledge of STAAD/SAP, AISC, and AWS
- Familiarity with AutoCAD preferred
- Client interface and team mentoring experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Work under licensed S.E.’s to progress toward professional licensure
- Exposure to fieldwork environments in various industrial facilities
- Advanced development of multidisciplinary experience
- Expertise in calculations and analytical modeling
- Lead root‑cause failure analysis of defects
- Manage and develop leadership abilities
- Physically mobile on the ground and at heights; must lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Work at heights, climb ladders, stairways, and scaffold platforms; use fall protection when required
- Work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks, hi‑vis vest, gloves, steel‑toed shoes)
- Position in confined spaces as needed
- Adhere to client random drug testing and facial hair policies before site entry
- Additional site requirements will be communicated prior to assignment; failure to meet them may affect continued employment
Pay Range: $110,000 – $150,000 annually. Base salary is based on experience, certifications, location, and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentive compensation.
