Senior Staff Accountant
Compensation: $80,000
Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant
Position Overview: A full-time Senior Staff Accountant is needed to support a rapidly growing organization in the healthcare services/technology sector. This is a hands‑on accounting role responsible for managing general ledger activity, multi‑state payroll oversight, reconciliations, year‑end close, audit support, and daily accounting operations.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, experienced with multi‑entity accounting, and capable of functioning independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities General Ledger & Financial Reporting- Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate and timely entries.
- Prepare financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and trial balances.
- Create and post journal entries.
- Research accounting issues such as reversals, corrections, and payment allocations.
- Perform account reconciliations and support the year‑end closing process.
- Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
- Complete bank reconciliations for multiple companies and process physical/remote deposits.
- Manage A/R activities including posting checks, ACH, and credit card payments.
- Maintain an over payment list and track outstanding items.
- Oversee multi‑state payroll for accuracy and conduct year‑end payroll reviews.
- Serve as backup for payroll and collections support.
- Prepare W‑2s and 1099s, including reviewing vendor records and mapping G/Ls.
- Prepare Workers’ Compensation audits, Federal Business Surveys, and Department of Labor surveys.
- Prepare documentation for external auditors.
- Assist with annual financial audits.
- Support CPA with investment account entries and reconciling owner draws.
- Initiate and approve ACH and wire payments.
- Monitor daily cash activity and ensure accuracy of related postings.
- Strong experience with Quick Books Online (QBO).
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive).
- Preferred experience with Avalara, Salesforce, and ADP multi‑state payroll.
- Familiarity with payment platforms such as Pay Pal, Clover, and Stripe.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high integrity.
