Cafeteria Manager – Colebrook Consolidated School (Part‑Time)

EdAdvance is one of Connecticut's six Regional Educational Service Centers (RESCs). It is a partner in the RESC Alliance and works collaboratively with other RESC groups to support state‑wide initiatives.

Part‑time academic calendar position.

Location:

Colebrook Consolidated School in Colebrook, CT. Position open until filled / Anticipated start date:
Jan. 5th, 2026.

• Oversee the preparation of meals for the National School Lunch and Breakfast program
• Cook as required
• Other duties as may be assigned
• Occasional flexible or additional hours may be needed
• Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position

• Prepare food, including basic cooking, serving food to students, cleaning kitchen equipment, and putting away stock/deliveries
• Oversee food service staff
• Order food from multiple vendors
• Work with a Point of Sale System
• Follow all sanitation and health codes governing food preparation and personal appearance
• Work with hot ovens, sharp tools, slippery floors, and some heavy lifting
• Possess general knowledge of food and nutrition
• Provide some catering
• Other duties as may be assigned

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Qualified food operator’s certificate or ability to become certified
• Strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of food, nutrition, and methods of quantity cooking
• Ability to operate and care for institutional equipment
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to keep all records as directed
• Keen awareness of acceptable public relations techniques and good judgment
• Ability to delegate authority and communicate with other department personnel
• Aptitude for working in a program serving children

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work entire shift on your feet
• Must be able to push and pull carts
