Urgent Care Provider Residency Program – Nurse Practitioners & Physician Assistants – April 2026 Class

Apply to join CRH Healthcare, LLC and Peachtree Immediate Care for the next cohort of urgent‑care providers. This role is based in Lithia Springs, GA and is part of the prestigious Emory Healthcare Network, giving you access to cutting‑edge research and evidence‑based medicine.

Program Overview
  • Ideal for new‑grad Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners, or those with no prior urgent‑care or primary‑care training.
  • Three‑month paid residency program with a competitive salary and a retention bonus up to $10,000.
  • Extensive one‑on‑one training under experienced NP, PA, or physician in our urgent‑care clinics.
  • Comprehensive curriculum covering diagnosis and treatment of chronic and acute conditions with hands‑on procedure training.

Program Phases
  • First Phase: 90 hours of focused training with Medical Leadership and regional trainers.
  • Second Phase: Work as a second provider in an approved regional center, with biweekly skill check‑ins and ongoing mentoring.
Curriculum & Clinical Skills
  • CGI & musculoskeletal assessment
    • EKGs
    • Heart murmur evaluation
    • X‑rays (chest, abdomen, wrist/hand, ankle/foot, spine)
    • Occupational medicine essentials
    • Preparation and administration of injections (e.g., Toradol, Rocephin, Decadron, Depo‑Medrol, Epi, vaccines)
    • Point‑of‑care tests (COVID, strep, flu, A1C, Hgb, glucose)
  • Procedures & examinations
    • Suturing (interrupted, continuous, horizontal & vertical mattress, subcuticular), including facial lacerations
    • Incision & drainage (abscess, paronychia/felon)
    • Digital block
    • Nail procedures (removal, wedge excision)
    • Pelvic examination
    • Extensive eye exams (fundoscopy, Wood’s lamp, fluorescein stain)
  • Clinical condition work‑ups
    • URI, sinusitis, otitis media, strep throat, pharyngitis
    • Bronchitis, pneumonia
    • Abdominal pain
    • Sprains, strains, fractures
    • Motor vehicle accidents (MVAs)
    • Dizziness, headaches
    • Chest pain, anaphylaxis, bites/rashes, cellulitis, work‑man’s compensation injuries
    • Fever of unknown origin, stroke, dehydration, UTI/pyelonephritis, STI, vaginal discharge/PID, burns
Program Progression
  • Initial 90‑hour period: shadowing Medical Leadership and becoming proficient with the EMR.
  • Post‑90‑hours: independent patient management with occasional consultation.
  • Second month: continued independent care with increasing efficiency (door‑to‑door times < 60–65 min).
  • Third month: fully independent practice with minimal consultation.
Graduation Requirements
  • Complete minimum 40 hours/week for 3 months (total 480 hours).
  • Obtain DOT certification (DOT course).
  • Pass the EMB Medicine coding course.
  • Demonstrate proficiency on the residency checklist.
  • Attend a New Provider Training Course if available.
  • Pass the Residency Certification Exam administered by the CMO.
