Position Summary

Manage all vehicle services, equipment, service associates and service instruction to increase capacity utilization through efficient and effective processing of tire and service demand.

Responsibilities Manages Overall Automobile Service Operations (30% of time)
  • Oversee continuous flow production through the Integrated Store Operating System.
  • Manage parts inventory and outside purchases to maintain stock levels and minimize outside purchases.
  • Handle return of unused parts to vendors, including follow‑up on credits and invoicing.
  • Review shop area, equipment and teammates for compliance with safety procedures and OSHA laws.
  • Control store assets in the service department area.
  • Maintain worker safety—including use and maintenance of safety equipment such as glasses, eyewash stations and first aid kits.
  • Oversee the Customer Service Delivery System (CSDS) and Quality Assurance Program.
  • Hold vehicle service teammates accountable via performance appraisals and maintain performance standards.
  • Assist technicians in advanced diagnostics.
  • Review service tickets, prices and priorities while coaching associates on technical and sales skills.
  • Conduct intermittent reviews of service quality to eliminate documentation errors and missed sales opportunities.
Manages People (30% of the time)
  • Hire service department associates directly and indirectly.
  • Interview prospective employees and determine qualifications for open positions; assist Store Manager on hiring decisions.
  • Supervise technicians and service personnel, plan and schedule duties, assign special work and follow up on completion.
  • Ensure staff levels are optimal for number and quality of teammates.
  • Create a highly motivated team environment.
  • Organize the service teammate area for a positive teammate and customer experience.
  • Develop technicians at every level, especially lower‑level technicians by assigning mentors and enabling progression to higher levels.
  • Leverage BSRO education opportunities and support certification attainment.
  • Establish performance standards and conduct appraisals.
  • Conduct group meetings with associates.
Customer Service and Sales Activities (30% of the time)
  • Handle customers in sales, service, complaints and adjustments, both in store and over the phone.
  • Process customer complaints and tire adjustments.
  • Develop customer loyalty and retention through relationship selling.
  • Grow profit through service or tire recommendations, including alignments, flushes and scheduled maintenance services.
  • stay current on special event promotions for suggestive selling.
  • Meet or exceed customer service expectations.
  • Assist BOSS on complex repair estimates.
  • Encourage use of CFNA Credit Card.
Miscellaneous Functions (10% of the time)
  • Open and close the store as directed, including cash control and asset protection.
  • Attend store, area and special meetings as required.
  • Assist with unloading shipments, tire balance, store displays and other duties necessary for customer relationships.
