Hours

Full time. Primarily Day shift between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday‑Friday. Hours could vary between 5:45 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Occasional Saturdays from 7:00 a.m.–Noon.

Responsibilities
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and supports Ambulatory Laboratory Services to ensure the overall effectiveness of its operation. May be responsible for one or more facilities within Lancaster General Health.
  • Oversees the operational efficiency, quality, and key performance indicators (KPIs) of ambulatory laboratory services in assigned Region. Functions as the Process Improvement Coordinator and maintains a tracking tool to measure and monitor performance.
  • Develops plans for departmental orientation, education, and training of staff. Plays an active role in the growth and development of assigned staff.
  • In collaboration with the Regional Director of Operations, manages various activities relating to the financial management of ambulatory laboratory services for assigned locations. Assists with budget preparation, manages departmental expenses and reviews monthly administrative reports for accuracy. Makes recommendations on expense reduction opportunities and develops action plans to correct variances, as appropriate.
  • Works with Laboratory and Ambulatory leadership to optimize customer relations and meet service objectives. Facilitates communication, workflow analysis and process improvement to optimize and standardize ambulatory lab services across the health system.
  • Ensures quality and safety of all ambulatory lab operations in compliance with regulatory standards and laboratory standard operating procedures.
  • Oversees Patient Access and Patient Financial Service activities related to the assigned ambulatory laboratory sites and ensures patient registration policies and procedures are followed. Distributes reports and corrects errors according to established guidelines for patient accounts and compliance purposes.
  • Provides leadership oversight to all significant projects occurring within assigned ambulatory laboratory sites.
  • Coordinates and actively participates in the marketing of ambulatory laboratory services, new program development expansion, and all other related activities as directed by the Regional Director of Operations.
  • Serves as a patient experience advocate and role model by being a positive influence in the handling of customer and employee issues. Communicates all LG Health policies, values, mission and vision with clarity and completeness. Maintains customer service as a top priority and actively works to resolve customer concerns immediately. Monitors patient satisfaction and develops action plans as appropriate within assigned region.
  • Maintains professional and positive working relationships with office staff, physicians, clinicians, and management of referring facilities.
  • Secondary duties: collaborates with Patient Access and Patient Financial Services to establish accuracy and productivity guidelines for assigned ambulatory laboratory staff; measures staff performance against these guidelines; monitors the entering of orders and posting of charges to patient accounts; responds to patient questions and takes appropriate action to make needed corrections; may collect co‑payments from patients as defined by Patient Financial Services;

    maintains a working knowledge of IT software systems utilized by Lancaster General and ensures implementation into daily operations; other duties as assigned.
