Massage Therapist (Part‑time / Lititz PA)
Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System – Rock Lititz Employee Clinic. 20 hours per week, part‑time medical benefits available, tuition assistance available.
Job Summary:
Perform massage therapy and bodywork treatments to patients and clients using techniques such as lymphatic, myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, and electro‑mechanical devices to enhance health and well‑being. Provide education to clients, coworkers, and community groups about the benefits of massage and other holistic modalities. Services are offered through Lancaster General Health.
- Greet patients and/or visitors warmly.
- Instruct new patients in completing medical history and information forms, if necessary.
- Perform and document initial health history, assessment, and evaluation of patient/client.
- Perform and document all sessions according to established guidelines.
- Effectively communicate and explain procedures appropriate to patient/client needs and preferences.
- Practice appropriate massage techniques.
- Maintain patient/client confidentiality and sensitivity; report any unusual interactions to supervisor immediately.
- Maintain patient records and patient satisfaction per Lancaster General Health standards and protocols.
- Maintain therapy room cleanliness and supplies and equipment for massage therapy.
- Participate in marketing and community events as requested; participate in in‑service activities for patients, physicians, and related hospital departments.
- Participate in the performance improvement program.
- Establish empathy and a person‑centered approach to clients.
- Rounds in departments to develop awareness of services and provide short massage sessions as appropriate.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are returned to the appropriate place after a treatment.
- Continue education based on the patient population that the therapist is working with.
- Provide seated chair massage for other employees in the unit if time allows.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Completed massage therapy education.
- Licensed by the state of Pennsylvania.
- Complete required continuing education hours by the Massage Therapy Board of Pennsylvania.
- At least 2 years of experience performing massage.
