Position OverviewAs a Business Excellence Manufacturing and Process Engineer II, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence across high‑speed food and beverage manufacturing lines. You will lead process optimization initiatives, support strategic equipment upgrades, and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. This role requires a strong foundation in continuous improvement methodologies, cross‑functional collaboration, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving in a fast‑paced, regulated environment.
Responsibilities- Lead cross‑functional teams in the identification, development, and implementation of process improvements to enhance throughput, reduce waste, and ensure food safety compliance.
- Develop and standardize best practices for high‑speed packaging and processing equipment, including sanitation protocols and changeover optimization.
- Analyze production data and KPIs to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement using Six Sigma and Lean tools.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and process consistency.
- Support capital projects, including equipment selection, vendor evaluation, and commissioning of new lines or automation systems.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians on process engineering principles and continuous improvement tools.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, including SOPs, control plans, FMEAs, and process flow diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMP) and internal quality standards.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in a high‑speed food and beverage manufacturing environment.
- Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher preferred), and process validation.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., HACCP, GMP, SQF).
- Experience with OEE tracking, downtime analysis, and continuous improvement project leadership.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or off‑shifts, to support production and project timelines.
- A desire to work in a fast‑paced, hands‑on manufacturing environment.
- Willing to work off‑shifts, including weekends as needed for new equipment installations.
We offer a competitive base pay rate and comprehensive benefits package for full‑time employees. This role works standard business hours Monday – Friday at either our Little Chute or Neenah, WI manufacturing facility. Occasional off‑shift or weekend hours may be required to support business needs.
