We provide self/preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance for predictability, foster a culture of mutual respect among surgical staff, invest in cutting‑edge equipment, and involve unit leaders in rounding to capture feedback on patient care and workflow. On‑call support is required during select non‑business hours.
What You Will Do In This Role- Evaluate patients before surgery.
- Educate patients and families about procedures and peri‑operative processes.
- Prepare patients, including IV therapy, pre‑operative medications, and surgical site verification.
- Participate in surgical site verification activities (briefing, time‑out, debriefing, universal protocols).
- Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
- Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care while applying evidence‑based practices and improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team—surgeons, technicians, and more.
- Apply the nursing process, critical thinking, technical skills, and leadership to provide safe independent care.
- Assess patient condition, monitor continuously during the shift, and document all care comprehensively.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, and follow‑up measures.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- RN license in the state of Texas.
- Associate Degree required;
Bachelor Degree preferred. - Minimum of 2 years RN experience in a hospital setting.
