RN Bone Marrow Transplant role at MEDICAL CITY DALLAS
. This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus of up to $20K for candidates with prior BMT experience.

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments of the patient’s health status following standards of care and disease-specific protocols.
• Plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN’s scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
• Provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance and incorporate patient/family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.
• Provide specialized care including:
• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy administration and management, including investigational protocols.
• Transfusion of blood, platelets and fresh frozen plasma.
• Management of patients with radiation implants, central venous access devices and spinal drains.
• Bone marrow biopsy and aspiration.
• Thoracentesis and paracentesis.
• Epidural and intrathecal analgesia.

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (ASN) from Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. Compact license accepted. BSN required within 24 months of hire.
• Current BLS
  - Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in an acute care setting preferred. Oncology experience highly preferred.
• ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate Provider must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
