Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Controller, the Staff Accountant will be a resource for the accounting staff. This role is responsible for maintaining general ledger balances, processing and administering payroll, managing month‑end processes, and ensuring that all financial reporting deadlines set by the Controller are met.
Key Responsibilities- Perform month‑end close duties such as journal entries and account analysis.
- Conduct research for various general ledger accounts.
- Perform monthly budget‑to‑actual variance analysis and collaborate with departments.
- Perform account reconciliations as needed.
- Complete other duties assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of two years overall experience in general ledger accounting with at least one year payroll experience.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with experience working with complex spreadsheets and pivot tables.
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
