Position: Audit Staff

Auditing provides clients with an objective evaluation of a company's financial statements. As an audit associate, you'll work with experienced audit staff and partners, gaining valuable growth and learning opportunities. You will collaborate with different teams to assess the financial performance of organizations across various industries. Your responsibilities include completing nationwide fieldwork for operational and financial audits, preparing work papers with conclusions and recommendations, and working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform audit testing on client financial statement segments (e.g., cash, accounts payable, receivable), ensuring sufficient audit evidence with a focus on quality and skepticism.

Prepare clear work papers documenting procedures, results, conclusions, and recommendations for clients.

Work independently and collaboratively on audit engagements.

Assist with operational and financial audit fieldwork.

Identify issues and apply accounting and auditing standards.

Develop positive relationships with client staff.

Understand computer systems used in audit processes.

Maintain at least 40 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) annually.

Communicate effectively, demonstrating listening and problem-solving skills.

Follow firm procedures and systems.

Perform inventory observations and document results.

Gather sufficient audit evidence in accordance with standards.

Maintain professional skepticism, considering alternative evidence.

Complete tasks to high-quality standards.

Demonstrate expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, and auditing standards.

Understand the significance of the work and its contribution to audit objectives.

Additional Responsibilities:

Identify and document risks, issues, and conclusions, consulting with team members.

Escalate risks and issues beyond your expertise.

Keep senior team members informed of progress and significant developments.

Take responsibility for audit areas from start to finish, including review and closing the audit file.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
Basic knowledge of GAAP and related accounting topics.
Willingness to travel nationally (40-60 nights/year).
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work extended hours during busy seasons.
