The Tax Auditor I is an entry-level position in the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration responsible for reviewing and managing Motor Fuel Tax accounts, processing refund claims, and conducting routine audits of tax returns to ensure compliance with state and federal tax laws. The role involves analyzing financial data, preparing audit reports, communicating with taxpayers, and maintaining accurate documentation of audit findings and supporting records.
Keyqualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or closely related field with minimum 12 hours of accounting coursework
- Ability to review and interpret complex financial data and identify discrepancies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in examining financial documents and records
- Ability to communicate professionally with taxpayers and colleagues
- Knowledge of tax laws and auditing principles
