Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical dermatology services, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for skin diseases and conditions.
- Perform dermatologic procedures and biopsies, excluding Mohs surgery, in the clinic and operating room.
- Provide comprehensive inpatient dermatology care, including acute medical management of dermatologic conditions.
- Maintain timely presence in clinic and/or operating room for scheduled patient care.
- Ensure all procedures and admissions are conducted under the supervision of an attending physician; residents may not perform services in the absence of the attending.
- Maintain documentation and electronic medical records in compliance with VA policy.
- Notify the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) of any obstacles to meeting clinic wait time or consult completion standards.
- Participate in VA-required continuing education and mandatory training programs, including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Board Certified or Board Eligible Dermatologist in the United States.
- Current medical license in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or D.C.
- Experience providing inpatient and outpatient dermatology care, including minor dermatologic surgical procedures and biopsies.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency.
- Knowledge of and adherence to VA, TJC, American Academy of Dermatology, and American Hospital Association standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and professional skills.
- Normal Business Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday
- Federal holidays observed by the VA:
New Year's Day, President's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and any national holiday declared. - Physicians are responsible for providing services during scheduled hours unless clinics are canceled by VA or a state of emergency is declared.
- Pre-assignment medical evaluation as required by VA policy.
- Compliance with all occupational health requirements, including immunizations and infection control protocols.
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to VA dress code standards.
- Responsible for all required documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting to VA supervisors.
- Contractor will provide qualified backup personnel to cover absences or emergencies to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
