IOTA Community Schools is a growing network of high‑performing public charter schools serving grades 6–12 in Memphis. In 2026‑27 we’re expanding to Little Rock, Arkansas, launching a K‑8 program.

Position Responsibilities- Attend professional meetings, conferences, and training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence. Support staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
- Effectively instruct students in assigned content areas following IOTA’s academic standards through direct instruction, using audio‑visual aids and additional materials to enhance engagement.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan and align curricula so instruction follows state and school guidelines.
- Set clear short‑term and long‑term instructional goals.
- Develop and submit weekly, long‑range lesson plans containing standards, objectives, essential questions, assessments, and activities; assign lessons and review homework.
- Use data to evaluate student progress, report results, and inform parents of progress.
- Create and implement intervention plans when necessary.
- Maintain student‑management policies (attendance, dress code, etc.) and report to administrators as needed.
- Provide effective supervision and discipline in the classroom.
- Work with teachers and administrators to address and resolve student needs.
- Provide accommodations and modifications for all students’ growth and success.
- Participate in faculty and professional meetings.
- Lead and participate in student activities: sponsor clubs, coach sports, engage parents and community, provide supervision, and chaperone events.
- Abide by all state and federal mandates for reporting abuse and neglect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Arkansas Teacher’s license for Middle School Education 4–8 or Mathematics 7–12.
- Belief in the IOTA mission.
- Ability to meet deadlines for lesson plans, grades, and other requirements.
- Humility, sense of humor, and rock‑solid commitment to IOTA’s mission.
- Willingness to construct hands‑on educational materials for identified curriculum skills.
Physical Requirements , and Working Conditions
Your duties will involve regular sitting, standing, walking, stair use, operating foot/hand controls, telephone use, and writing. You may occasionally lift or move 20 pounds or more. The position requires accurate perception of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling, and delivering oral information. Attendance throughout the contracted days is required, with only infrequent unexcused absences. Additional technical skills may be recommended by your supervisor and approved by the People Team.

Starting salaries for fully licensed teachers begin at $50,000, with placement determined by experience and guidelines.
