Instructor – Rhetoric & Writing

The Department of Rhetoric & Writing invites applications for a full‑time, non‑tenure‑track Instructor position. The role may include teaching face‑to‑face and/or online courses in developmental, first‑year, and intermediate composition.

• Teach composition courses in‑person and online.
• Work positively with faculty, staff, students, and the community.
• Participate in departmental, university, and community service and governance, including service on the department's Composition Committee and in assessment and professional development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Master's degree in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, Technical Communication and/or Professional Writing, Creative Nonfiction, Public Administration, English, or a related discipline.
• Prior composition teaching experience with an emphasis on first‑year students.
• Experience teaching diverse populations of students.
• Advanced organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
• Professional writing experience.
• Online or hybrid teaching experience.

• College‑level teaching experience.
• Ability to teach composition courses face‑to‑face and online.
• Demonstrated commitment to student retention and success.

Salary: $68,000.00–$70,000.00. Benefits:
