Position OverviewAsset Management engineers manage programs for all distribution assets, including poles, equipment maintenance, underground maintenance, inspection, reliability, outage causal analysis, and related programs. They collaborate with planning, design, standards, and construction/operations teams and may perform routine, non‑routine, and emergency restoration duties.
Key Responsibilities- Perform detailed engineering analysis in planning, maintenance, design, project management, construction, and operations.
- Apply engineering principles, best practices, and technical knowledge to solve problems, develop cost‑effective solutions, and improve products or services.
- Evaluate alternatives, make decisions, and interpret applicable electrical codes, procedures, standards, processes, and policies.
- Support compliance with distribution industry standards, best practices, and utility regulations.
- Collaborate with other disciplines within the Distribution organization and other company units to achieve goals.
- Assist with storm/emergency restoration efforts as necessary.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering from a four‑year accredited institution. Engineering technology degrees with PE may be considered. - Experience:
- Engineer II – 2+ years
- Engineer III – 4+ years
- Engineer Sr – 6+ years
- Preferred experience in planning, field, or reliability engineering.
- Application of engineering principles, sound engineering judgment, and strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent math, project management, and communication (written & oral) skills.
- Competence in PC operations and related software.
- Ability to manage multiple activities, adapt to changing priorities, and work well under pressure.
- Knowledge of safety policies and hazard recognition.
- Commitment to a diverse and inclusive environment and process improvement.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Employees may be required to work additional hours, alternate locations, and perform duties related to storms, outages, or emergencies. Exempt employees are not entitled to overtime for these duties.
