summary: the engineer, professional engineer is responsible for conducting engineering studies, developing design drawings and/or specifications, and performing related administrative duties. This position is governed by state and federal law and agency/institution policy.
functions:
dimensions: must be able to work outdoors and on construction sites, if applicable to the educational specialty. May be exposed to hazards in the field or the laboratory.
knowledge, skills and abilities:
minimum qualifications: the formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in chemical, civil, or mechanical engineering, or a related field. Must be licensed as a registered professional engineer in accordance with aca 17-30-302. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the office of personnel management. Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee.
licenses: must possess professional engineer license.
preferred qualifications:
bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and/or experience related to electric utility design, construction and operation of facilities, quality of service issues, utility tariffs, pole attachments and joint use of facilities, integrated resource plans, interconnection of self-generation facilities, rule making dockets before the commission; and testifying as an expert witness.
