Summary ofJob Duties
This posting will be used to fill multiple positions:
Ophthalmic Assistant / Certified Assistant/ Certified Technician / Certified Medical Technologist.
The Ophthalmic Assistant (OA), Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), and Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) must be able to effectively perform as part of a team. As this position requires direct patient contact, assistants must maintain compassion towards patients. The OA participates in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care to a select group of patients.
Assistants refer any problems they encounter with their patients to the attending physician. This could be due to a lack of patient acknowledgment, adverse reaction to examination procedures, or other issues that must be reported promptly to a physician, so that it may be addressed in a timely manner.
