Summary of

Job Duties

The Medical Assistant works under the direct supervision of the clinic physician by assisting in the examination and treatment of patients. The MA conducts patient interviews and screening, measures vital signs, records information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), draws and collects blood samples, and may perform EKGs. The role also includes preparing treatment rooms, ensuring supplies are stocked, and registering and scheduling patients for appointments using the registration systems.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registered or Certified Medical Assistant
  • One (1) year of Medical Assistant experience
  • BLS (CPR) Certification
  • Ability to perform point‑of‑care testing and prepare specimens for laboratory processing
Responsibilities
  • Collect and record patients’ medical history and vital signs.
  • Advise patients on treatment and physician instructions.
  • Collect lab samples and complete required documentation for labs.
  • Manage the patient appointment schedule, balancing medical needs and patient availability.
  • Greet all patients in a professional manner upon arrival.
  • Register and checkout patients, collect payments, issue receipts, and verify insurance coverage.
  • Assist the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
  • Maintain accurate communication and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate positive working relationships with coworkers, management, and ancillary departments.
  • Assist internal and external stakeholders with exceptional customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Pre‑employment screening requirements: annual TB screening, criminal background check, substance abuse testing.
