- Oversee daily operations of the Cryo-EM Facility, including sample vitrification and data collection
- Train and assist users from UAMS and surrounding institutions in cryo-EM techniques
- Conduct routine calibration and maintenance of cryo-TEM and accessory equipment
- Manage project timelines and ensure clear communication with faculty, students, and staff
- Maintain accurate records to support manuscript writing and grant proposals
- PhD in physics, biophysics, or structural biology
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience for Associate Scientist or seven (7) years for Principal Scientist
- Proven expertise in cryo‑EM-based structural biology research with a strong publication record
- Technical skills in cryo‑EM sample vitrification, data acquisition, and processing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and collaboration
- Experience as a Postdoctoral fellow in a related field
- Familiarity with data collection and processing software for single particle analysis, such as Cryosparc and Relion
- Background in managing multi‑user research facilities
- Ability to keep up with scientific literature relevant to cryo‑EM techniques
- Experience in training students and staff in practical cryo‑EM analysis
