Companion Care Aide

Companion Care is an “add‑on” service offered to our Independent Living residents who could benefit from additional support. Residents enrolled in the program elect to have a companion assist them during assigned times throughout the week. Assistance may include reminding them to take medications, accompanying them to activities, or helping with laundry. The goal is to promote independence while offering support to those who need it.

• Assist residents with non‑medical care, medication or activity reminders, and one‑on‑one companionship.
• Assist residents with personal hygiene and mobility, prioritizing their well‑being and ensuring they maintain dignity and independence.
• Assist with resident laundry, ensuring each item is cleaned and neatly folded for the correct resident.

Companion Care Aides have a flexible schedule based on the needs of the residents enrolled in the program.

• Maintain the community’s mission and vision statement.
• Understand and follow the resident’s service plan.
• Have good communication skills.
• Maintain confidentiality with resident and fellow employee information.
• Be capable of washing, drying, folding, and returning laundry to the correct resident.
• Notify management of any changes in a resident’s condition.
• Be reliable and consistent in following the work schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management staff.
