Summary of

Job Duties

This position works under supervision and provides comprehensive support for patient care activities. It may meet, greet, and assist the public, answer telephones, coordinate appointments, referrals, consults, tests and/or procedures, check‑in and register patients, check‑out patients, collect payments, issue receipts, verify insurance coverage and respond to third‑party payer requirements. The position also assists with coordinating hospital admissions and surgery scheduling. In addition, the employee must perform all duties of the Access Coordinator I level and provide additional support to patient care activities as needed.

This is a PRN position with a maximum of 1,000 hours.

Qualifications
  • High School, GED, or formal educational equivalent.
  • Three years of customer service experience, preferably in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment.
  • Good communication skills, basic computer proficiency (preferably MS Office), excellent telephone etiquette, and basic knowledge of office machines including printers and scanners.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology is required.
Additional Information

Salary: $16.33 per hour
