Position SummaryThe Senior Project Manager is responsible for scheduling, work coordination, and managing all on-site construction activities. Provides direction and management for every phase of a project to ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Plans and defines project goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies.
- Responsible for all scheduling and work coordination between shop and erector, and manage all on-site work activities.
- Prepare and maintain a detailed schedule for drawing approvals, shop issues, buy outs and erection. Responsible for managing and tracking all payments, change orders, and back charges.
- Responsible for training, coaching and overseeing the work of Project Managers. Develop standard operating procedures for Project Managers.
- Responsible for all issues involving erection. Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all program or project activity, including significant milestones, and any conditions which would affect project cost or schedule.
- Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected suppliers during the program or project execution. Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client. Assists business development in understanding client issues and business plans in order to market and secure new/additional work.
- Estimating for Pipe bids. Prepare a complete estimated price with a comprehensive description of all items. Prepare time, cost, labor, freight shipping etc.
- Manage Field Reports, monitor the Earned Values per Project, and perform site visits, present safety presentations and other duties as assigned.
- The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with steel fabrication, erection and estimating with 2 years management experience. Prior experience must include significant project experience and successful project management. Must be familiar with AISC and OSHA requirements. Must be detail oriented. Must have excellent oral/written communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
PhysicalDemands
Some overtime required to meet deadlines. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds occasionally. Requires long periods of sitting. Must be able to travel to off-site jobs. All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.
