Our esteemed client is on the lookout for a Process Engineer with a keen focus on injection molding processes. This role is integral to the continuous enhancement of production efficiency and cost-effectiveness. It involves collaboration with automation and manufacturing teams to refine production workflows and discover opportunities for financial savings. This position is deemed safety-sensitive and requires a proactive approach to maintaining the highest standards of workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities- Proactively identify and troubleshoot potential sources of errors and quality concerns within the molding process, implementing robust solutions.
- Contribute to the formulation and management of work instructions, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
- Assess and provide expert opinions on new materials and their potential integration into existing production lines.
- Conduct thorough validations of new mold implementations, meticulously documenting findings and issues.
- Employ LEAN methodologies to create robotics solutions, design end-of-arm tooling, and innovate secondary fixtures and assembly aids.
- Drive Research & Development efforts for novel processes and materials, as well as pioneering decorating techniques.
- Champion initiatives aimed at cost reduction and process optimization.
- Play a key role in space and equipment planning for manufacturing operations.
- Support the technical training of staff, offer diagnostic expertise for equipment malfunctions, and contribute to the quality approval process.
- A Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering or a closely related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in injection molding tool design and process methodologies.
- Demonstrated proficiency in scientific molding practices, with credentials in RJG or comparable process specialties preferred.
- Adept in the use of MS Office Suite for effective communication and data management.
- Exceptional communication skills paired with a strategic approach to negotiation.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and to remain mobile, including standing for prolonged periods, as necessary in a manufacturing setting.
