Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Automation Technician to support manufacturing operations through maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of automated systems including Allen Bradley PLCs and industrial robots. This is a hands-on role focused on equipment reliability and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated equipment including PLCs, HMIs, and robotics (e.g., Fanuc, ABB).
- Modify PLC and robot programs to resolve issues and improve performance.
- Perform preventive maintenance and calibrations on control systems.
- Support equipment installations, commissioning, and startups.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and backups of programs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
- Follow safety procedures and OSHA standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and industrial robots in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in PLC logic, ladder diagrams, and HMI systems.
- Familiarity with servos, sensors, VFDs, and industrial electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable in industrial environments with noise, heat, and machinery.
