Role:
The Nocturnist Advanced Practice Provider is a licensed independent practitioner responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for their assigned patient population in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and nursing standards of care. The provider functions as an intensivist within designated intensive care units, managing the critical care aspect of the patient’s stay from admission to transfer in a collaborative model.

Responsibilities

• Primary and urgent medical management of critically ill patients

• Emergency stabilization and critical thinking in complex scenarios

• Implementation of evidence‑based practice and adherence to critical pathways and protocols

• Collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; regular meetings with collaborating physician

• Continuous evaluation of patient status, development and execution of individualized care plans

• Prescriptive authority for medication and medication administration in a critical care setting

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
• Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure with prescriptive authority
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification in specialty area
• Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Eligible for hospital privileges
• Prescriptive Authority

Additional Information
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi‑weekly.
