Summary ofJob Duties
This posting will be used to fill multiple positions.
Shift: Nights
The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to assigned patients in Medical Oncology/Family Medicine (H7). This unit has 30 private rooms and provides state of the art therapies to a wide range of medical oncology patients and family medicine patients. Practicing in this environment allows the RN to develop skills in chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, management of a range of IV central access devices, management of a variety of symptoms associated with the disease process and/or treatment, and development of skills in emotional support and palliative care.
This area also provides learning opportunities in all areas of medical-surgical nursing. A strong interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, and social workers support the patient in their various therapies.
Required
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing.
- Valid RN License.
- 1 year of Registered Nursing experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong work ethics and accountability.
Preferred
- BSN or MSN
- 2 or more years of nursing experience with a minimum of 1 year in an acute care setting such as a teaching hospital.
- 1 year or more of Oncology RN experience.
- National Certification
