Job Summary

Part‑time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Behavioral Health Service Line (BHSL) Interventional Psychiatry Hospital‑Based Outpatient Department, responsible for a broad range of activities critical to the functioning of the services. The RN will consistently provide effective direct care to a variety of patients, work as part of the interdisciplinary team, based on licensure, title, and competencies. The RN seeks and provides feedback for improved clinical practice and integrates theory and research into clinical practice.

PRI Interventional Services includes ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy), SAINT TMS, Esketamine Administration, and IV Ketamine Infusions. The RN works under the direct supervision of the CSM.
This position is part‑time – working three 8‑hour shifts per week.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate's Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or Master's Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Arkansas
  • Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethic, and accountability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of Registered Nurse experience
  • Current BLS certification
Additional Information

Employee must successfully complete a UAMS‑sponsored conflict management training to identify, prevent, and mitigate disruptive behaviors using methods such as non‑escalation, de‑escalation, personal protection from physical assaults, and physical alternatives within six months of hire.

The BHSL Interventional Psychiatry Hospital‑Based Outpatient Department is located in the Psychiatric Research Institute building on the main UAMS campus.
