In this role, you'll manage a variety of orthopedic conditions, providing assessments, treatment planning, and patient education, while also assisting surgeons during procedures in the operating room (OR). Your contributions will help ensure seamless, high-quality care that supports patients from diagnosis through recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care and Treatment Planning:
    • Perform detailed assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop customized treatment plans for patients with orthopedic issues.
    • Conduct medical procedures such as joint injections, aspirations, laceration repairs, wound care, and joint dislocation reductions.
    • Write prescriptions and orders for medications, imaging studies, therapy, and durable medical equipment (DME).
  • Documentation and Record Management:
    • Maintain meticulous patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and outcomes, using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
    • Complete required documentation, including FMLA forms, school notes, and disability paperwork.
    • Utilize prescription monitoring databases and other digital tools to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Operating Room Assistance:
    • Assist surgeons during orthopedic procedures by preparing patients, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing intraoperative support.
    • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are readily available.
    • Contribute to post-operative care by assessing wounds, educating patients on recovery protocols, and assisting with follow-up care.
  • Patient Education and Counseling:
    • Educate patients and their families on orthopedic conditions, treatment plans, medications, and post-operative care.
    • Counsel patients to help them understand their treatment options and recovery processes, ensuring they feel supported and empowered.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Partner closely with supervising physicians on complex cases to develop comprehensive care plans.
    • Coordinate with the broader healthcare team to ensure seamless, patient-centered care.
    • Maintain open communication with patients to foster trust and address any concerns throughout their treatment journey.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Follow strict safety, environmental, and infection control protocols in all clinical and surgical activities.
    • Ensure adherence to HIPAA and other regulatory standards to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Conduct sports physicals and other related assessments as needed.
    • Perform additional tasks as assigned to enhance clinic operations and optimize patient care.
