Eaton’s ES AMER NAS division is currently seeking an Outside Sales Engineer. Candidates for this role must reside within 50 miles of our North Little Rock, AR location to be considered for the position. Relocation assistance will be offered for successful applicants who live outside this location.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

The primary function of the Sales Engineer is to market and sell Eaton’s products and services to obtain orders that are profitable to Eaton. The position is expected to achieve electrical components sales for distribution and controls. This will be expected in the geographic market region consistent with the expectations of sales professionals. The primary responsibility is to manage the assigned customer base, to increase sales in the local marketplace, application guidance and technical assistance to assigned customers.

This position is expected to develop, grow and maintain relationships with Eaton employees, specifiers and customers, including Eaton authorized distributors.

In this function you will:
  • Build and own relationships with key customers and channel partners to enhance long‑term business prospects

  • Learn and understand business models to better own, develop and execute sales plans to meet performance expectations and requirements

  • Collaborate and leverage channel to execute on business objectives

  • Canvas the market to gain insight and adjust to ever changing pricing and delivery requirements

  • Use corporate tools and business analytics about the customer to drive data‑based decisions about account opportunities and growth

  • Collaborate cross functionally with product lines, operations and other internal stakeholders to provide customer centric solutions

  • Lead technical presentations at customer's forums and local technical associations

  • Proactively work with factories to resolve technical issues while working with customers to resolve quality issues

  • Assist the team to develop a coordinated sales effort while keeping management informed of market conditions

  • Quote projects and negotiate accurate required pricing

  • Obtain ongoing training on both functional and technical skills

Qualifications:

Required (Basic)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience within the electrical industry or a minimum two (2) internship experiences within the electrical industry

  • Possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

  • Possess excellent communication skills

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

  • Demonstrates adaptability in responding to diverse situations while consistently exhibiting exceptional sales proficiency across key customer services and applications

  • Electrical product basic knowledge

  • Skilled in time management

  • Possess negotiating skills while understanding and using techniques needed to close orders

  • Ability to prepare sales proposals that meet customer expectations

  • Experience utilizing value‑added selling techniques

  • Strong work ethic, competitiveness, willingness to learn and adept at building relationships

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

The compensation range for this full‑time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $81,750 - $119,900.

Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
