Apprentice Level 1 to 4 - Southern Electric Corporation

Join Southern Electric Corporation in the role of Apprentice Level 1 to 4. This position will introduce you to energized secondary work, de‑energized primary framing, and bucket truck operation under the supervision of a Lineman or Foreman.

Step two Apprentices will perform energized secondary work (up to 480 V) while supervised, ensuring proper safety distances from primary conductors. Tasks include:

• Proper use of aerial lifts and bucket trucks
• Basic aerial lift operations
• Material handling
• Secondary connections, phasing or paralleling
• Taking voltage, amperage, or resistance readings on secondary circuits
• Tying/attaching conductors to insulators on de‑energized circuits
• Sagging secondaries and services
• Dead‑ending and clipping services and secondary conductors
• Assisting lineman with de‑energized transformer connections
• Work from pole or bucket
• Test de‑energized primary lines, tag, and apply protective grounds
• De‑energized primary framing and hardware installation
• Hanging crossarms from the pole de‑energized circuits
• Drilling and fastening with impact (hydraulic) tools
• Using hand‑powered crimping tools
