Concrete Finisher​/Carpenter

We are currently accepting applications for a Concrete Finisher wanting to advance their construction career. The ideal candidate will be able to expertly pour, level and smooth concrete on a variety of surfaces, possess the skills necessary for the trade and be familiar with the latest concrete pouring technology.

This is a safety sensitive position.

Key Responsibilities:

* Setting forms that hold the concrete in place.

* Erect built-in-place forms or assemble and install prefabricated forms;
Insert spreaders and tie-rods between opposite pieces to maintain specific dimensions; brace forms in place using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, and planks.

* Cleaning and inspecting surfaces for pouring issues.

* Directing the casting of the concrete with the truck driver.

* Pouring, smoothing, and leveling concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed. This includes handheld tools and power tool versions.

* Monitoring the effects of the weather on the curing process.

* Applying sealing and hardening components.

* Safely operating power vibrator to ensure the concrete is consolidated.

* Molding and constructing expansion joints using joiners and edging tools.

* Polishing surface using a power surfacing machine.

* Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools.

Position Requirements :

* Ability to stand for long periods.

* Ability to lift heavy materials and work long hours.

* Ability to kneel for long periods.

* Knowledge of hand-held and power tools including power vibrators, polishers, cutting saws, and edging tools.

* Able to work shifts, at night and on public holidays as required.

* Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.

* Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test. Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to Redstone Construction Group standards & processes

Working Conditions/

Physical Requirements:

* Work environment is consistent of an office and facility with construction equipment inventory and repair/service shop and may also include construction job site.

* Safety training required; PPE required outside of office/parking lot area.

* PPE must comply with site specific requirements.

* Occasional lifting may be required up to 75 lbs.

* Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping.

Job Type: Full-time, Hourly

Compensation:

* $15 - $25 per hour.
