Main duties of the job- 4/6 session a week with flexible times (open for discussion)

We have a fantastic opportunity for a salaried GP to join the team for 4/6 sessions per week.
The practices are situated in great location on the Sussex Coast. Easily commutable being only a 10-20 minute drive from Worthing, 30-minute drive from Chichester and 45-minute drive from Portsmouth. There are also great transport links to London.
The practices have approx 29,300 patients and holds an abundance of knowledge with a team of a 5 Partners, 14 Salaried GPs and a supportive multi-disciplinary team which includes an experienced and established nursing team, prescribing paramedics and large prescribing team with pharmacists and technicians and physiotherapists
As a training practice (registrars and medical students), we have a strong education focus, placing high value on training and development. We have regular practice learning sessions, and support our teams in their professional development and special interests.

ob summary: The post-holder will deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. Responsibilities will reflect requirements of the NHS GP Contracts, and as such may be subject to change as services adapt.
Clinical responsibilities- In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self‑referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Developing management plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
- Providing patients with support, advice and health education.
- Admitting patients to hospital and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Collecting data for audit purposes when agreed.
- Compiling and issuing electronic acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand‑written prescriptions whenever possible.)
- Prescribing in accordance with the Sussex ICB formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
- In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
- Weekly on-call duties pro rata.
