Financial Analyst

Location: Rustington

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join the finance team of an established business based in Rustington.

This is a varied role supporting financial planning, reporting and analysis across the wider business. You will work closely with Finance and operational teams, providing accurate financial information to support decision making, budgeting and forecasting, while also helping to improve and standardise financial processes.

The role would suit an analytical and commercially minded finance professional who is confident working with data, has strong Excel skills and enjoys working across different areas of a business.

Key Responsibilities

Provide accurate financial analysis and information to support business decision making
Extract, analyse and interpret financial data to support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
Support month-end processes and ensure financial information is accurate and delivered within deadlines
Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts and regular financial reporting
Support the monitoring of capital projects and their financial performance
Provide financial support for improvement projects across the business
Help maintain effective financial controls and ensure company policies and procedures are followed
Support internal and external audit processes, providing information and analysis as required
Assist with statutory reporting and taxation requirements
Provide financial guidance and support to management teams across the business
Identify opportunities to improve and standardise financial processes
Work closely with Finance and other departments to resolve queries and support business performance
Skills & Experience

AAT qualified, with a willingness to continue studying towards CIMA or a similar qualification
Previous experience in a finance or financial analysis role
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office
Experience working with financial data, reporting and analysis
Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet strict deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with colleagues at different levels
A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to use initiative
Knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing or project accounting would be beneficial
Experience working within a multinational or multi-site organisation would be advantageous
Understanding of US GAAP, SOX and/or IFRS would be beneficial
Willingness to continue developing your financial knowledge and skills
